Learning experience for "Seminar in English Language Teaching."
Today in the classroom, I am absent because I have a headache so I asked my friends about lesson that teacher taught for today. My friends told that for today teacher taught about "The end of CLT: a context approach to language teaching. After that, teacher let the students work in group and discuss about What is CLT?, The main goal of CLT, The advantage and disadvantage of CLT eitc. And then, teacher let the students present their work in front of the class. As you know CLT consists four things:
1. Grammatical competence
2. Sociolinguistic competence
3. Discourse competence
4. Strategic competence
It focused on communication and the students can practice L2 in classroom as much as they can. In addition, some country used CLT in classroom is not always success such as Holland, Czech republic and Taiwan. However, using CLT is still popular in some country but now having a negative effect.
Finally, the lesson that teacher taught for today. I could bring to develop a lot of knowledge and helped me easy to understand about communicative language teaching.
