Learning experiences for "Seminar in English Language Teaching"

Today, in the classroom teacher gave to watch the video about "David Crystal World Englishes". After that, teacher gave to provide groups by each group have seven persons. Then, everyone in group helped to discuss about which heard from video and David talked about what? For this video talked about vocabularies and different culture and understanding about grammar that use in communication etc. When everyone in class finished for discuss teacher gave each group present in front of the class about information that conclusion from video. After that, teacher taught about :

"Kachu's (1989) concentric circles : 

- Inner circle  - ENT

- Outer circle - ESL 

Study the following words : 

- kangaroo, sarong, laksa

- kimono, judo, sumo

Study the following expressions

- How are you?

Fine, thanks.

- How are you doing?

(just) great, thanks. 

- How are you going?

Good, thanks. 

-Where are you going?

- Have you eaten?" 

In addition, teacher taught about : "Role of English mean English is use as a language for international business communication".

English is also used in :

- education

- international tourism

- air traffic control

- entertainment

- advertising

- textbooks             

So, for today teacher made me happy and enjoy in this class. In addition, I got a lot of knowledge from this course. I liked this course and I could develop the knowledge effectively.

                     Learning experiences for "Seminar in English Language Teaching"

Today, in the classroom teacher gave to provide groups into five groups in order to give each groups helped to discuss about information that everyone found in the class e.g. What is the English as a Second Language ( ESL ) mean?, What is the English as a Foreign Language          ( EFL ) mean?, What is the English as an International Language ( EIL ) mean?, The difference between ESL and EFL, What is the roles of English as a global?, What is the Lingua franca?, 21st century skills and the English language classroom and What is the Thailand 4.0?. In addition, we found a lot of text that interest about those questions which we helped to analyze and showed opinions for example "The differences between ESL and EFL are Teaching English as a Foreign Language ( EFL ) typically place in a foreign country, usually with students from the same country. In contrast, English as a Second Language ( ESL ) classes takes place in an English-speaking country, with students from all different backgrounds" etc. Then, we brought the information that we discuss to present in front of the class. Today, this class made me get a lot of knowledge about ESL, EFL, EIL and everything  that it about method or technique of English teaching. I thought I loved this class because it was interesting class and I could show my opinion in order to develop and practice my learning English effectively.

 Learning experiences for "Seminar in English Language Teaching" 

Today is first time for learning "Seminar in English Language Teaching". Teacher and students had greeting which it made me to relax from serious and worry. After that, teacher gave we divided groups in four groups in order to review and discuss about knowledge in each subject that we learned ( main four subjects e.g. English Teaching Methodology, Cultures of Speakers of English, Learning English through Projects and English Language Assessment and Evaluation because this four subjects are important subject for English teaching. Then, we helped to discuss and opinion exchange in group. My group got to discuss about "Learning English through Projects" which everyone in group got many knowledge from English teaching through projects which we could bring projects to use in teaching each skill e.g. listening skill, speaking skill, reading skill and writing skill include we knew about steps of the project in order to plan for teaching effectively.

I thought "Seminar in English Language Teaching" might be very difficult for me because this subject must read a lot of texts which I worried about vocabularies and grammar of texts which it had formal writing. But if I practiced regularly I thought I could do it. 

For solving of the problem for me I thought I should practice about reading texts and reviewing vocabularies that use in texts in order to understand the meaning in each text clearly. But for today, this course made me enjoy and relax. I loved "Seminar in English Language Teaching".
